Promoting Collective Memory and Heritage through Gaming – the Story of Yoldez
Yoldez is a young Tunisian architect specialized in cultural heritage management and historic preservation She has always been involved in various civil society organizations working on the safeguard of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in Tunisia and in the MENA region In 2015 she joined Sousse Demain an NGO aiming at restoring and preserving the Old Medina of Sousse Though the Medina is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List it remains endangered by the threats of urban sprawl and violent extremism

 Nassima is a young Moroccan architect devoted to community empowerment through leveraging the assets of heritage With the support of UNESCOUNOCT joint project on the prevention of violent extremism through youth empowerment cofunded by Canada she recently created her own youthled initiative called MedinaStories with the aim to create free educational material about peace coexistence and cultural diversity surrounding 10 Maghreb Medinas inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List In this framework and together with Association Clibre she launched an online editathon and a photography contest to directly involve youth from the region and created a digital application for both web and mobile devices that is accessible to the public
